Holly Holmes-Meredith:
Doctor of Ministry, MA, Clinical Director, Licensed Marriage Family Therapist, Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist, Board Certified Regression Therapist
Holly's teaching and therapy is grounded in a solid twenty-five year background in education, psychology, hypnotherapy and metaphysics. She teaches with an engaging expertise, ease and competence that builds professional skill and confidence in her students. Holly integrates a psycho-spiritual perspective in her teaching, models client empowerment and practices hypnotherapy as an art. In the last ten years she began studying and adding hands on healing and energy therapies to her work including Reiki and EFT.
Holly has a private psychotherapy and hypnotherapy practice on site at HCH at the Transformational Therapy Center which she founded in 1986. She is especially skilled in regression therapy, pain management, working with phobias, anxiety, and spiritual issues.
Holly is an examiner and a founding member on the Board of Directors for the International Board of Regression Therapy.
She was awarded her Doctorate in Ministry degree in 2007. Holly's dissertation on Hypnotherapy as a Spiritual Practice is in the process of being re-written as a Hypnotherapy text.

As husband and partner to Holly, Paul brings twenty-five years experience as a business owner into the job of running the HCH office. Paul also owns his own music company, Peaceful Music, through which he composes and records original keyboard, harp and harmonica music. As a metaphysician and hypnotherapist Paul adds a special dimension to connecting with students and clients who come to the Institute. Paul will most likely be your first contact either by phone, email or in person. He looks forward to introducing you to HCH and invites you to participate in his Hypnosis CD Recording Workshop.

Loyd has been on faculty at JFK University since 1983, and is in his fourth year as President of the international organization, the Psychic Entertainers Association. He is a Past President of the California Society for Psychical Study and a long-time contributor and columnist for FATE Magazine. He is on the advisory board of the Rhine Research Center. He holds a degree in Cultural Anthropology from Northwestern University and a graduate degree in Parapsychology from JFK University.
He has worked as a consultant on the paranormal for organizations in the field of Parapsychology, as well as for a variety of media. As for the former, he worked in the early 1980s as Public Information and Media Consultant to the American Society for Psychical Research, and has consulted with various researchers since then. For the latter, he has consulted on a number of TV series and shows, including the Travel Channel’s America’s Most Haunted Places.
Loyd is the author of several books and audio CDs. His most recent books are Ghost Hunting: How to Investigate the Paranormal and Hauntings and Poltergeists: The Ghost Hunter’s Guide.. Both are from Ronin Publishing, 2004.
His first book, ESP, HAUNTINGS AND POLTERGEISTS was named the “Sacred Text” on Ghosts by NEWSWEEK in 1996. He is co-producer for and appears on camera in the video documentary The Haunting of the USS Hornet.
He is a professional speaker on the college circuit, with his lecture True Tales of Ghosts and Hauntings. In addition, he lectures and teaches on a variety of other paranormally related topics.
He is a professional mentalist and psychic entertainer, performing as Professor Paranormal for all sorts of audiences, from small private parties to large corporate, college and public events.
Loyd Auerbach has appeared on hundreds of radio shows, and dozens of local and national TV shows, including Larry King Live, Unsolved Mysteries, The Today Show, OPRAH, Sightings, Popular Mechanics for Kids, Coast to Coast with Art Bell and Late Night with David Letterman.. He is constantly haunting occasional new shows and many re-runs on the Discovery Channel, the Travel Channel, TechTV, the Travel Channel, A&E, the History Channel and The Learning Channel. He is featured in and was Series Consultant for the Travel Channel mini-series "America's Most Haunted Places."
He has been conducting his investigations and research in the world of psychic phenomena and the paranormal for over 25 years.
Ph.D., Anthropology, MA, Consciousness Studies Certified Teacher of the Enneagram in the Narrative Tradition, Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist
An instructor at HCH, John brings an extensive background in education, the social sciences and interdisciplinary aspects of human consciousness. He received his Ph.D. from the University of Pennsylvania and was an anthropology professor for 20 years at one of the Ohio state universities, teaching classes in cultural anthropology and archaeology. Subsequently, he obtained a Masters degree in Consciousness Studies at JFK University, in a program which combined psychology, ecology, "the new science", and spirituality.
A graduate of HCH, he also trained for several years in a form of transpersonal psychology known as Psychosynthesis, and teaches the ways in which this psychology and hypnotherapy can interface with each other. For many years, John has also been a student of the Enneagram as a psychological tool, and trained with Helen Palmer & David Daniels to become a certified teacher
John's long-term interest is in examining the ways in which we unconsciously self-hypnotize ourselves and thus filter our view of reality and limit our perception of who we are, our relationships with others, and what the world is like - and how we can step out of that box and have a truer picture of self and world.
Most recently, John has trained with the Crystal Sound Institute in a form of sound therapy using crystal singing bowls to induce physical and mental relaxation, re-harmonize body and spirit, and help put one in touch with the deeper reality of Being.
PhD, Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist, EFT-ADV
After receiving his Ph.D. from UC Berkeley, Greg was a geology professor for many years, with more than 60 scientific research publications. He has long had interests in human behavior, how reality is affected by beliefs, the true nature of reality as revealed by quantum physics, and enlightenment. Workshops in shamanism, including advanced training with Michael Harner and Alberto Villoldo, revealed the nature of non-ordinary reality experienced during the shamanic state of consciousness. Recognizing a link between shamanic journeys and hypnosis, Greg decided to attend HCH, which has a tradition of incorporating aspects of shamanism into hypnotherapy training. Now he is continuing that tradition by teaching at HCH.
Greg is also an EFT specialist and has taught EFT workshops for therapists and for staff at the Omega Institute. He has an active interest in the new Human Givens approach to therapy that is widely used in the U.K. Greg has a private hypnotherapy practice in Berkeley and Lafayette.
Advanced Certification in EFT, Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist
Carolyn was trained in the field of nursing but realized nursing wasn't for her. Not wanting to abandon her love of medicine, she parlayed her medical training into a career as a Medical Research Assistant at the Mason Research Institute in Worcester Mass, then the Wistar Institute at the University of Pennsylvania Medical School, for a total of twenty-five years. Supporting her husband in a career move, Carolyn moved from Philadelphia to Contra Costa County in 1982. The couple became entrepreneurs and founded MicroComputer Schools, Inc. To further their business pursuits, Carolyn took a hiatus from the medical world. She matriculated at St. Mary's College in Moraga and received her business degree in 1985. After selling their business in 1991, Carolyn helped run her husband's software publishing company.
After a serious illness in 2002, she was introduced to Bio-feedback, which became the bridge to hypnotherapy and EFT. She earned her Clinical Certification in Hypnotherapy from HCH in February 2006. She became a devotee of EFT during a hypnotherapy class after her instructor applied EFT on her to avert a migraine. The results were amazing and she was hooked.
Having received her State of California certification as an EFT and Hypnotherapy Instructor, she now teaches several modules within the HCHÕs Hypnotherapy Course.
Outside of the Hypnotherapy Course, she teaches Deep Hypnosis, as well as EFT and other Meridian Tapping procedures, beginning and advanced. In 2008 she earned her Stop Smoking Certificate and Past Life Therapy Certificate through HMI in Tarzana, CA. Carolyn also hosts a monthly event at HCH, Healing for Pain and Wellness.
She has a private Hypnotherapy practice in Lafayette and Martinez.
Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist
Since early childhood Wendy Adair has been fascinated with all facets of the unseen world, including altered states of consciousness, the paranormal, and connection with Spirit.
As an adult, her training as a hypnotherapist has brought her into contact with that world. By increasing openness and her own personal intuitive development, Wendy's private hypnotherapy practice has transformed into a safe space for clients requiring spirit releasement and other deeply spiritual forms of healing.
She is constantly inspired by the beauty and mystery of the world around her. The opportunity to share techniques with others so they may have similar experiences is a privilege from which she derives great joy.

Heather has been a natural healer her entire life. Helping others has been her profession for over 20 years. However, not until she became a hypnotherapist, when coupled with focused learning via Reiki, did she discover the greater depths of her intuitive abilities.
Channelling her energy has assisted her in "tapping into" the greater wisdom and intuition within, which manifests itself in working with clients in a loving and authentic way.
She believes that by using humor along with developing and creating a place of inner peace, that much can be accomplised. She revels in the wonders and joy in the world around her, and strives to assist others with their own personal quests of personal growth, healing, and intuitive development.

John brings more than 20 years of experience into his private practice and we are delighted to have him on staff as the instructor of our advanced class on Ericksonian Hypnotherapy! He began his practice in Massachusetts, where he provided hypnotherapy for artists and other clients interested in using creativity to solve problems. He specializes in the treatment of post traumatic stress disorder and chronic pain. John also frequently treats, Depression and Anxiety disorders. He has provided psychological consultation for the Pain Management Clinic at Stanford University, and is currently a psychologist on staff at the Native American Health Center in Oakland, CA.
He holds a bachelor's degree in fine art, a master's degree in counseling psychology and a doctorate in clinical psychology. He holds a diplomat in pain management from the American Academy of Pain Management, and is a qualified medical examiner. John uses teaching techniques found in oral traditional cultures where trance, storytelling and healing are often combined. He has a long standing interest in using poetic descriptions to pull people into trance. He often blends techniques from oral cultures with poetic description to evoke trance states in his seminars. He considers this type of direct experience to be a most effective way to learn hypnotherapy. Dr. Parke is a licensed psychologist in the State of California.
Louis Bernstein:
MS, Certified Hypnotherapist
Following a successful career in Engineering, Louie has devoted his energy and passion towards the Healing Arts, and in particular, towards assisting others in accessing and manifesting their emotional healing through non-ordinary states of consciousness. Louie is a Certified Hypnotherapist, trained through the HCH Institute, and has a private practice that combines Hypnotherapy with the Expressive Arts. Louie is currently enrolled in the JFK University Graduate Program of Holistic Studies towards a Masters degree in Counseling Psychology / Transpersonal Psychology.
Louie has been a facilitator and practitioner of Emotional Healing Breathwork since 1997 and has received specialized training in the Expressive Arts / Expressive Movement healing modalities.
His philosophy is that each person already has the inner guidance and wisdom to find their own, personal healing. The healers role is to walk beside the individual along their path, offering compassion and unconditional regard while serving as a mirror to reflect back the individuals whole and complete True Self.
Abba Anderson:
Master Reiki Teacher, Licensed Acupuncturist, Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist
Abba is an acupuncturist and hypnotherapist practicing in Lafayette and Berkeley, California, a professional writer and Editor-in-Chief of the California Journal of Oriental Medicine. Practicing Reiki is a special part of Abba's life, and she feels blessed to share this simple, accessible practice with her students. Abba's acupuncture school classmates humorously voted her "most likely to have a patient levitating three feet above the table," and while you may not experience exactly that in her Reiki classes, you're likely to experience something equally as magical - not because of Abba, she's quick to point out, but because Reiki is such a loving, magical, transformative practice.
